Well know art curator and art lover Renu Rana realized her dreams of bringing artists together under one platform and recognizing their talent and to honour them through the Art Inc. Art Awards. Over the years Rana has seen artists use their lunch money to buy paints or live in their studies to ghost paint to make ends meet. It was all for the love of art. This is what she wanted to honour and respect and thus her Art Inc. Art Awards was born.

The journey of this award started over a decade ago when Rana, in her 40’s decided to go back to school and renew her passion for art. Rana studied at National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and then at National museum and eventually went on to start her own small art company, Art Inc. The company was pillared by two stalwarts of the Art Industry, the late Keshav Malik and Dr. Daljeet who helped her establish herself in the field.

Art Inc. Art Awards are divided into three  categories, Painting, sculpture and photography. Each category had a seasoned master and a young artist who were selected by a jury of eminent artists like Arpana Caur, Prof. Biman Das, Prof. NirenSengupta and HemantKhandelwal. The “Lifetime achievement award” was awarded to  Saroj Jain in the sculpture category; Umesh Verma in the painting category;  O. P. Sharma in the photography category and Dr. Daljeet in the art historian category.

The “Rising Star Award” award was given to Tarun Maity in the sculpture sculpture category; Oinam Dilip in the painting category; and Kunaal Bose in the photography category. Dr Karan Singh seen below with Renu Rana was the chief guest
