Esquire 35: Elegant and daring
To attract future small boat owners, Vripack has introduced an elegant gentleman’s runner christened Esquire 35. With styling influenced by her 65 ft bigger sister, the Esquire 35 is a head-turner and prime example of the holistic design success of Dutch studio Vripack. "With dynamic continuing lines wrapping around her inspired by the likable flows of the 40's & 50’s she is an interesting sculpture to look at", according to Vripack designer Pim Dijksman. "Pleasing to the eye are the elliptical windows that are surrounded by high-gloss wooden panels. The bulwark curls into the step up to the foredeck, which in the window’s reflection looks like one solid piece of bodywork. This elegant curl is mimicked around the front cap of the superstructure, giving her a pretty sturdy look," says Pim.

"Since she is a soft top you just want to ride her open, so we added a small windshield making sure the guests stay out of the wind, making cruising at 65 km/h relaxing. And to allow for the ultimate cabrio experience, heating is in place too, of course. On smaller boats we believe it is vital to stimulate your sense of freedom, space and appreciation of being on the water so the salon and aft deck are designed in such a way that you can combine the outside and inside easily by means of butterflying full glass doors. Next to this you can also convert the space to a dining area and additional crash-bunk. We call it smart use of space; making her feel bigger then she is," says Pim.

The kitchenette is flooded with light thanks to the ‘lack’ of a ceiling and it serves as the central space connecting the guest cabin, shower, toilet and owner’s cabin. For the interior styling, Vripack chose a sophisticated art-deco theme with modern materials like piano black Pirasiet, natural oak and printed HPL finished off with warm marine grade fabrics, creating a joint venture with the classic exterior styling. The Esquire 35 is technically well thought out as well. Vripack naval architects gave her a steep bow, fine entry and comfortable deep-V hull. With her clever Smart Kit construction and double Volvo Penta Aquamatic D3 engines giving 220HP she sails at a comfortable 30 knots. And with the joystick docking system combined with electronic power steering, maneuvering her into tight corners is simply fun. Altogether, she will make you look good and is definitely worth the dare.
