Taika by Poonam Bhagat and Mandira Wirk together with the young jewellery designer Rahul Popli showcased a collection at their store MRP@D7, Defence Colony that was beautiful and detailed with intricate embroidery, motifs and the right amount of bling.

Poonam’s collection drew inspiration from the luxurious costumes of the late 17^th to early 19^th centuries.  Aptly titled the ‘Romance of the Mughals she used the finest silks, velvets, brocades and muslins to create a collection that was at once wearable and royal and highlighted with the beautiful jewellry by Amethyst By Rahul Popli. Among the collection you could see fitted bodices, nipped in waists with flared skirts in maroons, yellow, oranges and pinks that tempted you.

Mandira Wirk’s white and gold ready to wear saris with attached blouses were stunners that called to be picked for the summer. If you are at Defence Colony, don’t forget to drop in for a look. They were a visual treat that could linger for a long time in your senses. Her collection among others included theAarikam, Shibori, Miss India and Gota collection.

Both the well-known designer’s outfits for the evening were accessorised by Amethyst by Rahul Popli who also retails at the outlet. His designs are delicate, rich yet wearable and can be worn with western as well as ethnic wear.
