Kalyani Saha Chawla’s recipe for success has always been her drive to excel in her endeavors. Right now, she is enjoying the process of building up the story that she has started scripting with Rezon, her luxury silverware line. During her 12-year stint with Christian Dior, India, the fashionista was perennially in the spotlight for her sartorial game. Even with her new venture, it’s evident she’s sunk her teeth into the entrepreneurial pie, determined to make it a success

Says the diva, “In India, silver is considered an auspicious metal. During festivals and weddings people gift silver decorative items to each other and the newlyweds. I used to make gift items earlier combining silver with leather so I am familiar with the versatility of the metal and the beauty it lends to accessories. Rezon’s home décor items, religious and table top accessories are perfect for bridal and festive gifting.”

Marrying age-old techniques of hand-beating sheets of silver, etching, chasing, engraving and enameling, the products are absolutely handcrafted and offbeat to look at. The Lotus collection comprises candle-stands, centrepieces, table lamps and vertical floor decorative pieces, which were inspired by an antique diya from the 19^th century.

The Secret Garden collection, full of photo frames, decorative boxes and bowls, is an ode to flowers, pretty insects, branches and lilies and features rose quartz, lapis and jade for that luxurious touch. The tri-colour collection combines silver, rose-gold and gold in candelabras, platters and serving trays. The vibe is fun and peppy in the Retro collection where pop colours are enamelled on the silver boxes. “Variety is our strong point. I have always believed that diversity is imperative. Despite being a luxury label, our pricing is a sweet spot, keeping in mind the current economic situation where the buyer is often cautious about over-splurging,” reasons Chawla.
