Glenfiddich host World’s Most Experimental Bartender in Delhi
It was an evening of fun yet serious competition as Glenfiddich hosted the third season of the World’s Most Experimental Bartender in Delhi. From among six collaborating participants from across India, bartender Rohan Matmary and musician Sonam Kalra’s pair stood out with their harmonious creativity and were announced the India winners of Glenfiddich’s World’s Most Experimental Bartender by a panel of esteemed judges.
Glenfiddich the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky initiated this unique competition to encourage the art of bartending and awarding the most creative mind. The competition requires participating bartenders to collaborate with a master of another field to co-create something unique inspired by Glenfiddich experience. The winners of various regions around the world compete to win the priceless opportunity of making their innovative dreams turn into realities.
The Indian winners of this competition: Rohan and Sonam had a beautifully set bar decorated with musical instruments radiating harmony. ‘Zaara’ the cocktail created by themis an infusion of Glenfiddich 12-year-oldwith cranberry, tiny tangerines, egg white and sage infusion, hibiscus, and rhubarb. The drink was a creative mix of elements that went amazingly well with the Glenfiddich 12- year whisky, Inspired by Sonam’s melodious, poetic blends, Rohan mixed these diverse ingredients into one tasty, experimental drink. The winners are now entitled to represent India at Glenfiddich Bartender Academy and compete in the competition further. They will be given an impressive three-day experience at the very home of Glenfiddich Bartender Academy in Scotland. The three-day program will include lessons such as how to make whisky from scratch and interaction session with the creators of the whisky.
