Yes you wouldn't believe Daniell's Tavern actually has an ongoing Indian food festival called the Clash of Titans.The culinary titans being Chef Ved Prakash and Chef Mirza Munnawar Baig, who are seducing you this winter with food from the city of Nawabs - Lucknow and the capital, Delhi itself known for its culinary heritage. So you will have curries to warm your heart and kebabs to bring back the tradition of Nawabs.

We got to taste some of the delicacies while Vijay Wanchoo- Sr. Executive Vice President and General Manager, The Imperial made the tasting session even more better with the history of the restaurant. "Would you believe there used to be cabaret dancing here?" he said pointing out to corners and spaces that were done up differently in the past. 

The clash of the titans has menus by both the chefs that are perfect ensemble of hand-picked traditional favourites from Delhi and Lucknow.  The enticing flavours of Kebabs and the tantalizing aroma of the biryanis from the royal gharana of Lucknow along with the all time famous rich curries from the Purani Dilli, recreate the magic of the lost traditions. So feast on the softest of Ghost ki Ghilawat, Kakori Kebabs, chukunder aur Raamdana ke tikki with dum biryanis, Ghchhi Mussalam, Mahi Nazakat, Dilli6  ka Mutton Korma with Purani Dilli ka shahi tukda. Make sure you finish it with the sweetest of paan that will be offered to you as you step out of the restaurant.

Chef Mirza is the fourth generation of Khansama from Lucknow. His forefathers used to work with Nawabs of Awadh and their gharanas. Chef Ved’s legacy includes his grandfather owning an eatery in Old Dilli at the time of independence, famous for curries like Paya Shorba and Purani Dilli Ka Mutton Korma. No doubt the menu sings the heritage of the Indian food that is everyone's favourite but with a personal touch of the chefs with flavours handed down to them by their families.
