Designer J J Valaya has become synonymous with uber luxury and so when his unique venture, The Home of the Traveler (THT), a first of its kind concept store with a fabulous array of artifacts announced its association with The Wine Company, the wine bistro at DLF, Cyber Hub, Gurgaon, it called for a celebration. 

Valaya hosted an event at The Wine Company as part of THT’s long term association with all things culturally inspired – interiors, wine and food. As he said, “Travel and wine have a strange yet fascinating connect. Somehow, for me, and for most people I know, a glass of fine wine in new lands and new company works beautifully to satiate the senses and the palate.”

The event, designed to transcend time, place and cultures, offered the guests a sumptuous global experience. Sommeliers took the guests through the wine tasting experience followed by a gala brunch. Interestingly, there were different wine zones, representing different countries.   The event also signaled the launch of special wine tasting Sunday brunch At The Wine Company, which sources it from over 35 countries. It also houses a shop with a varied choice of over 150 wines and other spirits that can be paired with the continental and European cuisine on the menu.

The luxury event saw the presence of several celebrities from the fashion industry besides well known names. Seen taking in the interesting evening were Manoj and Vandy Mehra, Manjeet Bhuller, Thenny Mejia, Monika and Hardesh Chawla, Tina Chatwal, Malvika Tiwari among others.
