Delhi gears up for the Annual Tarun Tahiliani Bridal Exposition
Intricacy, opulence and bespoke customization is what truly defines a quintessential Tarun Tahiliani design. The 6th edition of the Tarun Tahiliani Bridal Exposition gives a whole new dimension to Indian couture with bride and groom ensembles that are not just tailored to fit the body but are rather sculpted to the shape and form of its wearer. Luxe Point India gives you a sneak-peek of what's to come at the 6th Tarun Tahiliani Bridal Exposition in Delhi.
The lavish lifestyle of the Mughals, attention to detail and a rich art culture during their reign is evident in every piece of Tarun's "Modern Mughals" collection. The designer has tried to go beyond the conventional Indian lehengas and saris because of a transformation in the mindset of the modern Indian Bride. A drastic contrast in the desires of the coming generation of brides can be observed in their choice for bridal ensembles that are not over-powered with work, but are rather comfortably stylish so that they can let their hair loose and enjoy the biggest day of their life. Designer Tarun Tahiliani has very well understood the changing needs of the contemporary brides and has presented a collection that allows the brides the privilege to look their glamourous best without compromising with comfort. Modern light-weight fabrics like sheer silks, reshams and tulle have been used for ease of movement. New draping techniques have also been laid out especially to let the fabric flow and take the shape of the body as it moves.
Some of the highlights of the bridal collection include a long gold trellis jacket that can be thrown over a sari, a dress or even a lehenga to add a modern touch. There are varied choices for you in ice pinks and dull yet beautiful beige, if you wish to pick from a pastel pallete. However, if you a fan of bright hues, be sure to check out the multicolored ankle length lehenga in a fierce yellow base or the orange silk-dupian lehenga with a pre-draped cowl, dupatta and sheer tulle veil.
Rich Zardosi work, jewels, chikankari and mughal motifs have been embedded in the pieces of the new Couture collection for Men. The designer has not shied away from using vibrant colours for men, thus saving them from the over-exploited greys and blacks. Imagine a beautifully constructed Kanjeevaram dhoti-kurta and bundi that are held together with a zardosi hand embroidered belt and a pleated stole. If you wish to add a little drama to your sherwani, check out the bejewelled cummerbund that extends into half-skirt that flares gracefully as you walk.
The 6th edition of the Tarun Tahiliani Bridal Exposition is scheduled to take place in the capital at his Couture Studio in Chhattarpur, from 2nd-4th August in partnership with World Gold Council-Tarun Tahiliani for Azva, Swarovski and Diageo-Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18. Be sure to check it out especially if there is a wedding in the family!
