Revelling in the Art of Fusion and the strong surge of creative expression it entails, Hublot revealed three limited edition watches that boast unequivocal flair and artistic ingenuity.

The highly-anticipated Miami Art Basel 2015 received a glorious opening as legendary Swiss watchmaker Hublot unveiled three limited edition Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez timepieces. Celebrating famed Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, the enchanting evening saw an exclusive gathering of elite invitees join Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and Carlos Cruz-Diez for a lively cocktail event at the Espace Expression Gallery in Miami’s Design District.

One of the leading figures of kinetic-optic art, Cruz-Diez’s works display an expanse where colours are perpetually being formed and broken down. In continuance of its long standing association with art and Latin American artists in particular, Hublot invited Carlos Cruz-Diez to adapt one of his works — Chromointerférence(1964) — to three of its timepieces where inlines in varied hues have been juxtaposed together and printed on the dials. A mobile black frame which moves every minute has been then superimposed over these fixed designs, which results in the formation of a new series of colours. This in turn alters the perception of the previous ranges, thus allowing the dials to offer a harmonious display of diverse tints over a 12-hour period.

All of the Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez timepieces measure 45 mm in diameter, and are available in three captivating versions; an 18 carat king gold version, a black ceramic version and a platinum Tourbillon version. While the first two variants of this inimitable range are limited to 40 and 50 timepieces respectively, the platinum Tourbillon modification is exclusively restricted to only ten pieces.
