Flavours of Yangtze at the Eros Hotel, Delhi
Most of us have Chinese food to our hearts content whether it's at a party, wedding or just take-aways. Once in while you do come across that is more than the usual. The ongoing food festival "flavoursofyangze at the Empress of China, Etos Hotel, Nehru Place, Delhi is just that, it's all about food from the province of Hunan, Yunnan and Sichuan. The chefs Tensin Losel and Nikhil Rastogi conseptualised and curated the festival keeping in mind that Yangze, the longest river in China touched these provinces and thus the flavour.
The crystal dumplings with tofu and asparagus as a starter gleamed on the bamboo baskets deliciously and finished within minutes followed by Quenching chicken which was marinated in Soya Sauce and tossed with Sichuan pepper and dry red Chillies and the delicious goji berry vegetable soup but yummy to the core. The main dish consisted of Jiangxi style whole fish in soya sauce, Yunani chicken, stir fired tofu and Yunani egg plants, pork belly cooked deliciously and the veg noodles and friend rice. If you love Chinese food then this is a must visit. Desserts included Tangyuan made with rice which looked like lichi with an interesting taste and pumpkin cakes that tasted delicious.
Festival is on till 23rd Sep.
