Indian fine-dining restaurant Dilli 32 at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel revamps its menu

Dilli 32 is one of the most visited Indian cuisine restaurant at the The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi. It serves a variety of regional Indian cuisines, ranging from Awadh, Mughlai, North Indian to Bengal. Indian disheses that are cult, have been relished from eons and mentioned in the cuisine history of India is what you get to seen in the menu.

With underlying theme of representing Pan Indian ethos the ambience and the interiors too echo the same. The intricate work on the glasses, the light brown colour combination of the flooring and the side walls, with open relaxed seating, gives the restaurant an understated elegance yet maintaining a sense of sophistication, modernity that present day India has come to represent. With food, ambience representing amalgamation of Indian values, the hospitality is but warm, friendly and welcoming.

The restaurant recently changed their menu to give it a new look while retaining some of the classic dishes loved by its patrons. We were invited for a menu tasting which is always a delight at Dilli 32 as chef Ashwin Kumar makes sure every dish is cooked in the most traditional manner no matter the hours put into it while preparing.

The tasting included the much loved nihari, a very tasty tawa fish cooked in green mango paste, the much in demand galawat, naiili wala mutton in gravy and surprisingly the baigon kalonji from Lucknow with sweet and mild tangy taste that turned out to be finger licking delicious. We tasted one dish after the other with fragrant biryani and piping hot naans with Chef Ashwin making sure that we had a fill of all the dishes, The sheer range of dishes on offer from starters to main course to desserts from different Indian cuisines, their authenticity, the exquisite taste, presentation is all a sheer treat. The Bhopali murgh Rizala  are a food connoisseur’s delight here. Soon it was time to taste the dessert and we were presented with the pretty plating of mirch ka halwa and hari man bhari (pista kheer) till we were bursting to our seams

“Mastering one or two International cuisines is easier but mastering regional Indian cuisines is akin to mastering World cuisine. Honing these skills is a delicate job but given the guest feedback, we seem to pull it off well,"said the happy chef Ashwin. It's not just the food that ambience is so vibrant with the live ghazals or Indian songs that it's difficult to leave the table.
